Update on What Free Trade with Red China has Cost America

According to the international Monetary Fund, for the first time in decades the U.S. is no longer the largest economy in the world. Com­munist China has become number one. Just 14 years ago, the U.S. produced nearly three times as much as the Chinese. China now accounts for 16.5% of the global economy compared with 16.3% for the U.S., when measured in real PPP terms.  Fox News, 12-6-14

Communist China doesn't be­lieve in free trade, but works to advantage its own industries. China is trying to purge foreign technology from banks, the military, state-owned enterprises, and government agencies by requiring agencies to shift to Chinese suppliers. China is replacing foreign products at all lay­ers from application, middleware, down to the infrastructure software and hardware. This campaign could have lasting consequences for U.S. companies, including Cisco Systems Inc. (CSCO), International Business Machines Corp. (IBM), Intel Corp. Update on How 'Free Trade' with China Costs U.S. Jobs

Trade with China has cost 3.2 million American jobs. The trade imbalance with China has cost jobs in every state, according to the Economic Policy Institute. Imports from China grew dramatically from $102 billion (in 2001, the year we let China join the World Trade Organization) to $438 billion in 2013. In 2013, the U.S. imported four times more from China than we exported to that country. Econ­omists David Autor, David Dorn and Gordon Hanson found that im­port competition from China cost the U.S. 1.5 million manufacturing jobs from 1990 to 2007.  Washington Post,12-15-14

The cyber attack on Sony Pictures over its movie about a fictional assassination of North Korean boss Kim Jong-un ex­posed more than reported by the mainline press. The big winner in Sony's decision to pull "The In­terview" was not North Korea but China, whose People's Liberation Army has an entire division of hackers targeting Western busi­nesses and governments.

China is the world's second largest market for films, and China exercises strict control over what audiences see on screen: no religion, no guns in civilian hands, no civil disobedience, no Chinese villains. Chinese Communist cen­sors dictate what U.S. audiences see as well as what Chinese audi­ences see. Hollywood studios won't make movies that can't play in China. Update on China's Military Threat to America

In a new report by military analyst Bill Gertz, Communist China confirmed that its military conducted a flight test of a new long-range missile that involved the use of simulated multiple warheads. This was a flight test of the DF-41 ICBM on Dec. 13, 2014. This announcement was an admission that the missile involved the test of multiple, independently targetable reentry vehicles, or MIRVs. China's MIRV technology is based on illegally exported U.S. satellite technology transferred to China during the administration of President Bill Clinton.

China's state-run Communist Party newspaper published a pro­vocative article showing the effects of submarine-launched nuclear missile attacks against Seattle and Los Angeles that the article said would kill up to 12 million people. The nuclear missile submarine marks a major step forward in China's large-scale nuclear force buildup that has been carried out largely in secret.  Washington Free Beacon, 12-26-14

The head of our National Secu­rity Agency, Keith Alexander, says that China's theft of intellectual property from the United States amounts to "the most significant transfer of wealth in history."
