America's Future Update on China

Update on China's Investments in the U.S.A.

Communist China's direct investment in the U.S. could hit unprecedented high levels this year. It's on a path to reach at least $8 billion this year according to a research report from the Rhodium Group. This year's pending multibillion-dollar acquisitions by Communist China include a $2.6 billion bid by Dalian Wanda for the AMC movie theater chain, and a $1.8 billion bid by the Chinese aerospace manufacturer Superior Aviation for the aircraft maker Hawker Beechcraft in Wichita, Kansas.

Chinese investors are targeting a variety of U.S. industries for investment such as advanced manufacturing, oil and gas, renewable energy, aerospace, electronics, and banking. Sinopec already has a $2.5 billion stake in Devon Energy. CNNMoneyInvest, 7-26-12

Why are the Chinese investing in Toledo? Chinese investors paid $2.15 million cash for a restaurant complex on the Maumee River in Toledo, Ohio. They paid another $3.8 million for land in the city's Marina District, then another $3 million for an aging hotel with a view of the minor league ballpark. CNNMoneyInvest, 6-20-12

Update on "Free Trade" with China

Communist China limits U.S. access to its markets while stealing our designs, patents, knowhow, technology, and the intellectual property that drives innovation. China has built up its economy by piggybacking onto Western technology and manipulates its currency to the disadvantage of American exporters, excludes American products from government purchases, subsidizes Chinese companies to give them a commercial advantage, and invents regulations and standards designed to keep out foreign competition.

The U.S. government has accused the Chinese of being the world's "most active and persistent" perpetrators of economic spying. Much of this spying is carried out in cyberspace, where vast volumes of data can be stolen in seconds, according to U.S. intelligence officials. The chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Rep. Mike Rogers, accused China of industrial cyberespionage against the U.S., calling it "brazen and widespread theft of intellectual property from foreign commercial competitors. Beijing is waging a massive war on all of us, and [the U.S. and its allies] should band together and pressure them to stop".

Update on China's Economic & Military Threat

China's nuclear arsenal poses the most serious "mortal threat" to the United States, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper told the Senate Armed Services Committee. The U.S. intelligence community expresses increased concern about China's military buildup, most of which is carried out in secret.

Here is an excerpt from a letter to the editor of the Wall Street Journal from Randy Rossi, a retired president of a global manufacturing company that did business with China. "I can tell you that China cheats like crazy and its cheating gives it a massive unfair advantage against U.S. manufacturing companies that follow the rules . . . China manipulates its currency, steals massive amounts of U.S. technology, disregards civilized rules designed to protect consumers and employees from personal injury and totally disregards global environmental standards. This cheating gives China a 40%-50% advantage over U.S. companies that follow the rules . . . I don't get defending the Chinese as they massively cheat against U.S. companies. Pretending that they don't is naive beyond comprehension. Mitt Romney has it right". Wall Street Journal, 9-23-12
