More than 200 years ago America’s founding fathers pledged their lives, their honor and their fortunes to establish a sovereign constitutional republic whose citizens would live in liberty. During the past 100 years, influential elitists have reversed our nation’s course, gradually surrendering America’s sovereignty and pledging her fortune to establish their own consolidation of power, control and wealth. Former journalism teacher and current California Eagle Forum President Orlean Koehle exposes the clandestine movement to form a North American Union (NAU) After explaining the historical background, the author reports a meeting between George W. Bush, Vicente Fox of Mexico, and Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin in 2005 to form the so-called Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP). Subsequent SPP reports proposed "convergence, harmonization and integration" of the laws and policies of the three nations. But, asks Koehle, "How do you converge, harmonize or integrate our U.S. Constitution with two socialist countries?" The author goes on to share how NAU advocates answer that question and reveals components of their propaganda program that have been in place since at least 2001. The term SPP was dropped due to opposition in 2008, but the group’s work will undoubtedly go on under other organizational names, just as recommended by the Hudson Institute, a think tank working towards a NAU. Regional unions like the EU and the proposed NAU are only stepping-stones. Other agreements binding nations to each other and to the EU are also being formed. The ultimate goal of elitist socialists, asserts Koehle, is global governance and economic integration under a socialist regime. It would be nice to be able to dismiss her as a conspiracy theorist, but quotes from the globalist proponents and the documented progress of their plans makes that difficult. Indeed, one strength of the book is Koehle’s meticulous documentation. She provides an abundance of quotes from people and public records, along with relevant source citations. Many of the sources are websites, including government and news organization sites, so readers can easily check the facts for themselves. Other topics include the history of the United Nations and the EU, the NAFTA superhighway, key players in the quest for a one-world government, and some common tactics of stealth and deception they use to fly under the radar. One chapter offers encouraging examples of ordinary citizens, legislators and public figures who are taking this issue seriously and have thwarted parts of the globalist plans, at least for now. Koehle also offers practical suggestions for how readers can join the resistance. (XLibris Corporation, 2010, 681 pp., $35) |

similar to the European Union (EU). Proponents of a NAU envision an economic and political merger between the United States, Mexico and Canada. Borders between the three countries would be erased, and they would share an outer security "perimeter." Since Americans won’t readily cede national sovereignty, our executive branch has entered into a series of agreements and treaties that move us towards a NAU without congressional oversight or the knowledge or consent of citizens.
